Cinco De Shocker Post Run Wrap Up!

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

If you attended, and survived, this year’s Shocker Run then you know what an incredible and amazing experience it was!  This year’s event drew 52 trucks from 14 different states make it out to Rausch Creek!  I was personally overwhelmed with the support, enthusiasm, and team work that I witnessed all weekend at the KOA and Rausch Creek.  GPAX’s supporting members and regular attendees really showed their pride and excitement for the sport with their huge showing this past weekend.  GPAX raised over $1,000 for the club’s operating budget that can be used to support the club, the supporting members, sponsoring other large Xterra & Nissan events, purchasing raffle prizes for future GPAX events, and donating to our club’s philanthropy causes, such as breast cancer research.

GPAX also gave away over $2,500 in raffle prizes from our amazing sponsors! Powertank, Quadratec, PRG Suspensions, Rugged Rocks Off-Road, Nissan Online Parts, NissTec Lifts, Amsoil – Code 3 Synthetics, K&N Air Filters, ARB USA, Street Side Auto, and Black & Tactical were the great sponsors who made the raffle an overwhelming success!

This year’s Shocker Run did not disappoint as far as weather was concerned.  At 7:00 at we ascended the hill of Rt. 81 the snow began to fall.  By the time the trail leaders and and trail groups were lining up, Rausch Creek had turned into a white out with wind gusts up to 35mph!  And, wouldn’t you know it, that once most groups hit the trails, the sun came out and it became a kick ass day on the trails.  We had 7 or 8 trail groups head out just after 9am and spread out across the 4,000 acres of Rausch Creek.  There was some great times had by each separate trail group and also some unexpected carnage suffered by a few of our GPAX attendees, myself included!  Thanks to our trail leaders, Stephen Q., Jason, Michael, Sean, Bryan, Ron, and Jerry.  You guys made the day go smoothly and made everyone have a great and safe day on the trails!  Thank you to everyone who traveled from far away and several states over to attend, your attendance makes a huge difference and GPAX celebrates new people and welcomes new trucks to our events.

I want to personally thank everyone who attended and made this the greatest Shocker Run yet!

Thank you!

El Presidente

Kudos

I want to send a big thank you to our current Vice President, Jason Katz, for all of his work over the past 3.5 years.  Jason and I conceived of GPAX in the winter of 2008 and made it come to life later that summer.  Jason has always been a positive influence on me and his passion helped make this club something we can all be proud of and that we can continue to watch grow over the years.  Jason will be stepping down from his V.P. post this upcoming year and he will be missed.  I wish him all the luck with his family and work and although he will not be as active with GPAX, he will not be a stranger either.  Expect to see Jason and his salt and pepper beard at a GPAX run this winter!

I also want to send a big thank you to those who donated and attended this year’s Camp Out For Hunger on December 1, 2011!  GPAX raised almost 400lbs of food and although it was not our largest effort in recent years every little bit makes a big difference in the life of someone in need.  Thanks to Dan, Dani, Mike, Brian, Jason, Tom, Brad, Dave for all your help!

GPAX Welcomes 2 More New Sponsors!

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

GPAX is proud to welcome both Nisstec Lifts and Rock Auto to our amazing club sponsors!

NissTec Lifts

NissTec Lifts is one of the newest aftermarket suspension company’s for the 2nd generation Nissan Xterra.  NissTec Lifts was started in 2011, spun off our big sister company ToyTec Lifts which has been in the aftermarket suspension and accessory business since 2002.  We take great pride in providing our customers only the best of the best. From our quality products, ease of purchase, fast shipping, and great customer support, NissTec is here to support our customers!

Rock Auto

RockAuto, LLC was founded in Madison, Wisconsin in 1999 by the Taylor family. Their engineering background, passion for old cars, and desire to liberate information hidden behind the auto parts store counter led the Taylors to start RockAuto.   RockAuto ships thousands of auto parts from over 200 manufacturers to customers on every continent except Antarctica-including APO/FPO addresses. The RockAuto catalog is updated daily with mechanical parts like brake pads and shock absorbers, body parts like bumpers and mirrors, interior trim like door handles and carpets, and major assemblies like steering gears, CV axles, engine long blocks, and complete transmissions. There are no mechanics on staff (RockAuto is a store, not a repair shop) but service manuals are available to help customers learn how to perform a repair. The RockAuto catalog is expanding constantly. Someday, it may be possible to build an entire car using parts from RockAuto!  Exceptional customer service is a top priority at RockAuto. Business hours and contact information including our toll-free phone number are on our home page. Responsiveness to customers is recognized: RockAuto.com consistently earns top scores in third party customer service surveys.
